Heinkel Photography is a family-owned portrait and lifestyle photography business based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
We both grew up in the South Jersey area, but it was a two-year relocation to Arizona that led to Heinkel Photography.
Having picked up photography as a hobby, I started documenting our adventures. It was a great way to share the experience with our family back east. It was also a way for us to remember the little moments along the way—like the time we caught the most beautiful sunset behind a gas station in Moab, Utah, or our first glimpse of the Grand Canyon. It taught us the power of a meaningful photograph.
Life moves quickly. It’s cliché, but it’s true. Our mission is to help you hit pause – to enhance your life’s (or brand’s) story with meaningful photographs. And we accomplish that through fun, personalized photo sessions.
Prior to each shoot, we schedule a consultation to learn more about you. This small investment of time pays off when choosing a location and creating a shot list. It all adds up to a more comfortable shoot filled with natural smiles that we capture through our clean and bright style.
While we know it’s all about the photos, we also hope to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. We look forward to meeting you!
After nine years of working in marketing, I grew tired of trying to force a square peg in a round hole. The conference calls, the presentations, the dress shoes – they just weren’t for me.
I started using photography as a creative outlet from my 9 to 5. It quickly turned from a hobby to a passion, picking up my camera every chance I got. Eventually, I couldn’t ignore the obvious – I was happiest with a camera in my hand, and I wanted to make that my full-time job.
I love to photograph people. I learned how to use my first camera by taking pictures of family and friends. Don’t get me wrong; sunsets and flowers can be pretty, but there’s an emotional component to a well-crafted portrait that can’t be beat.
Photography has been a life-saving creative outlet for me over the past few years, and I want to share that passion with you. It’s given me a new outlook on life and I try to bring that energy to every shoot. I genuinely enjoy getting to know my clients and finding ways to give them unique images that speak to who they truly are.
After traveling with Dan to different shoot locations, I decided that I didn’t want to just sit back and watch. With his encouragement, I learned how to use the equipment and started assisting Dan on his shoots.
This turned into a fun way for us to spend time together, and we soon began collaborating on photo concepts, logistics, and editing styles. As business picked up, I knew my background in finance could also help, so when Dan came to me and said he wanted to make this a career, I started to pitch in on the administrative side as well.
Like our marriage, Heinkel Photography is a team effort. This let’s us focus on our strengths and enables us to give our clients the level of service and quality they deserve.
